Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain today stated\u00a0that Bangladesh will adhere to standard protocol regarding any sideline\u00a0bilateral meetings during the upcoming United Nations General Assembly (UNGA)\u00a0in New York.<\/p>\n
“We will proceed according to the established regular procedure,” he told\u00a0reporters at the foreign ministry when asked about the possibility of a\u00a0meeting between Chief Adviser Professor Yunus and Indian Prime Minister\u00a0Narendra Modi.<\/p>\n
He clarified that such meetings are not arranged far in advance but follow a\u00a0systematic process.<\/p>\n
“It’s not something we request a month ahead, there’s a process to follow,”\u00a0he clarified.<\/p>\n
Hossain also noted that there is no certainty that Indian Prime Minister Modi\u00a0will attend the UNGA.<\/p>\n
Regarding the Chief Adviser’s delegation, Hossain mentioned that it will be\u00a0small, comprising not more than 10-12 persons.<\/p>\n
“I will be accompanying the Chief Adviser,” he confirmed.<\/p>\n
The Chief Adviser is expected to arrive in New York on September 22 and\u00a0return to Dhaka on September 29.<\/p>\n
