British High Commission in Dhaka has welcomed the next group of Chevening Scholars through an online event last week.<\/p>\n
A total of 23 young Bangladeshi professionals have received the prestigious scholarships for the 2024-\u201925 academic year.<\/p>\n
They will soon leave Bangladesh to begin one-year master\u2019s degrees at some of the UK\u2019s most prestigious universities, said British High Commission\u2019s press release here today.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen they return home after their studies in the UK, they will be well-equipped to be leaders in their fields here in Bangladesh,\u201d said British Charge d\u2019affaires James Goldman on the occasion.<\/p>\n
Chevening Scholarships are the UK Government\u2019s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and partner organisations.<\/p>\n
The scholarships support one-year taught master’s degrees at UK universities for individuals with demonstrable potential to become future leaders, decision-makers, and opinion builders.<\/p>\n
Chevening began in 1983 and has developed into a prestigious international awards scheme. Chevening Scholars come from over 160 countries and territories worldwide.<\/p>\n
Over the past five years, Chevening has awarded over 8,000 scholarships. There are over 57,000 Chevening Alumni around the world who comprise an influential and highly regarded global network.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
