ET Desk:<\/strong> Islami Andolan Bangladesh (IAB) Amir Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim, Charmonai Pir, today said the July Uprising has created new opportunities for the nation.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf we fail to utilise this opportunity . . . the future generations will curse us,\u201d he told a gathering of the Ulema and a public rally at the Bengal Convention Hall in Noakhali\u2019s Chowmuni here August 24.<\/p>\n

The IAB Amir added: \u201cThousands of mothers and families suffered in the July Uprising; many people became victims of blindness and paralysis.\u201d<\/p>\n

Charmonai Pir highlighted the importance of Islam as the main force of the country and the role of Ulema-e-Keram.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the 54 years of independence, various vested interests have repeatedly deceived the nation. During elections, they appear before the common people in the guise of patriots and religious people, but when they come to power, they make the country a ‘champion’ through corruption,\u201d he observed.<\/p>\n

Pir Saheb Charmonai also mentioned that the fascist rulers became billionaires and siphoned off huge sums abroad, but due to the anger of the people, they too had to flee.<\/p>\n

\u201cTherefore, history will not forgive them if they deceive the nation after assuming office,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
