ET Desk<\/strong>:”In a country where 90 percent of people are Muslim, theft, corruption, and money laundering are taking place just because they are Muslim in name,” said Professor Dr. Mohammad Abdur Rob, Vice-Chancellor of Manarat International University.<\/p>\n

He said, “Only by eliminating the unethical education system in our country and establishing a society based on truth and justice will theft and corruption cease and a united nation be formed.”<\/p>\n

He made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion on World Teachers’ Day 2025 organized by the Bangladesh College Teachers’ Council at the Tafazzal Hossain Manik Mia Hall of the National Press Club on Sunday (October 5, 2025).<\/p>\n

Noting that the country’s poor people are working hard and earning a halal income, he said, “It is the so-called educated people who are involved in theft, corruption, and smuggling the country’s money abroad. Education without ethics and morals is responsible for this.”<\/p>\n

Stating that people are becoming beastly and inhumane due to an education system devoid of religious education, this internationally renowned educationist and environmental scientist further said, “Today, 95 percent of the world’s wealth is in the hands of just five percent of the people.”<\/p>\n

Under the control of these five percent, the remaining 80 to 90 percent of the people are humiliated, insulted, and oppressed, and only the leftovers are allocated for them.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cMuslims being beaten up for eating beef or women being harassed for wearing the hijab\u2014these incidents are happening, yet the world is silent.\u201d<\/p>\n

Calling on teachers to improve the current situation, he said, “Islamic education must be spread\u2014because Islamic education reflects humanity, is capable of uniting people by eliminating hatred, prejudice, and division.”<\/p>\n
