ET Desk: Election Commission (EC) Secretariat Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed today said there is no situation so far to be panicked or concerned regarding the upcoming 13th Jatiya Sangsad election.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo far, there is no reason for panic or concern,\u201d he told journalists at Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital\u2019s Agargaon.<\/p>\n
About the preparations, Akhtar Ahmed said \u201cIt is not necessary that everything must be completed exactly as per the EC\u2019s initial plan. Certain adjustments are made depending on the situation.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cSome tasks have already been completed, while others are still in progress and will take a bit more time. Not every activity can be scheduled or executed strictly according to fixed dates and times,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He said that the list of polling centres has been finalized. The registration of political parties and the final list of polling centres will be completed within this week, he added.<\/p>\n
Regarding new party registration, he said, \u201cWe are receiving information from the field about party registrations, which are currently being reviewed. Hopefully, we will complete the process within this week.\u201d<\/p>\n
About BNP\u2019s objection letter regarding the amendment to the Representation of the People Order (RPO), Akhtar Ahmed said, \u201cBNP has sent a letter expressing its objection over the RPO issue.
