{"id":13832,"date":"2026-08-12T11:43:28","date_gmt":"2026-08-12T05:43:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyenglishtimes.com\/?p=13832"},"modified":"2026-08-12T11:43:28","modified_gmt":"2026-08-12T05:43:28","slug":"iu-and-yu-sign-mou-for-research-cooperation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyenglishtimes.com\/?p=13832","title":{"rendered":"IU and YU Sign MoU for Research Cooperation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>IU Correspondent<\/strong>: The Department of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering (BTGE) of Islamic University (Bangladesh) and the Faculty of Agriculture and Research Center for Thermotolerant Microbial Resources (RCTMR) of Yamaguchi University (Japan) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen academic and research cooperation between the two institutions.<\/p>\n<p>The MoU is expected to enhance research collaboration and academic exchange between the two universities. It will also create opportunities for researchers and students from both institutions to participate in joint research and academic programmes.<\/p>\n<p>The areas of cooperation include biotechnology, microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, medicine, bioinformatics and agriculture. The agreement also provides for student exchange and mobility, sharing of scientific knowledge and research materials, and cooperation in human-resource development.<br \/>\nThe two institutions will also jointly organize seminars, symposia, workshops and training programmes in areas of mutual interest. They may cooperate in identifying potential research areas and developing and implementing research project proposals.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Dr. Md. Abu Hena Mostofa Jamal, Chairman of the Department of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering at Islamic University, signed the MoU on behalf of the university.<br \/>\nProfessor Dr. Yasumi Ibaraki, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Yamaguchi University and Professor Dr. Hisashi Hoshida, Director of the Research Center for Thermotolerant Microbial Resources, also signed the agreement on behalf of Yamaguchi University.<br \/>\nProfessor Dr. Mohammad Minnatul Karim, Principal Investigator of the Microbial Biofilm and Molecular Biotechnology Laboratory at Islamic University and Professor Dr. Hiroyuki Azakami of Yamaguchi University witnessed the signing.<\/p>\n<p>According to the agreement, the MoU will remain effective for an initial period of five years from the date of the last authorized signature.
