As many as 334 dengue patients were admitted
\nto different hospitals in the country during the past 24 hours till 8 am
\ntoday.<\/p>\n
“During the period, a total of 273 dengue patients were hospitalised in Dhaka
\ncity while 61 were admitted to the different hospitals outside it,” a press
\nrelease of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said.<\/p>\n
“A total of 36 deaths from dengue disease were reported this year while 269
\ndengue patients died last year,” the daily statement of the DGHS said.<\/p>\n
With the new cases, the total number of patients rose to 5,564 the statement
\nsaid, adding: “Some 4,290 patients were released from different hospitals
\nthis year among the total patients.”<\/p>\n
Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has recently issued
\ncomprehensive instructions on prevention of dengue infection as the mosquito-
\nborne tropical disease has increased sharply this year.<\/p>\n
According to the DGHS data, dengue infection has increased five times since
\nJanuary 1 to May 31, 2023.<\/p>\n
Dengue fever is a mosquito-borne illness that occurs in tropical and
\nsubtropical areas of the world. Outbreaks of the disease are usually
