{"id":2024,"date":"2023-07-24T10:02:23","date_gmt":"2023-07-24T06:32:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyenglishtimes.com\/?p=2024"},"modified":"2023-07-24T10:02:23","modified_gmt":"2023-07-24T06:32:23","slug":"stern-actions-against-those-responsible-for-public-sufferings-kamal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyenglishtimes.com\/?p=2024","title":{"rendered":"Stern actions against those responsible for public sufferings: Kamal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Staff correspondent :<\/p>\n<p>Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal today said the government will take legal actions against those who will be responsible for creating public sufferings in the name of political programmes.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Although the government allowed the BNP to hold political programmes, they do not have rights to create public sufferings,&#8221; he said while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the 40th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Crime Reporters&#8217; Association (CRAB) as the chief guest at Dhaka Reporters Unity here.<\/p>\n<p>Mentioning that the government is not obstructing any political programmes of the BNP, he said &#8220;None is being detained without major crimes. Stern actions will be taken against those who will commit crimes, break the laws and create sufferings for the public.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Chaired by CRAB President Mirza Hemedy Tomal, the function was addressed by Director General of Rapid Action Battalion M Khurshid Hossain and Additional Inspector General and Chief of Highway Police AKM Shahabuddin Khan as special guests. CRAB General Secretary Mamunur Rashid delivered the welcome speech.<\/p>\n<p>Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) President Mursalin Nomani, its general secretary Mainul Hasan Sohel, former general secretary Syed Shukur Ali Shuvo, CRAB ex-president Khairuzzaman Kamal, Abul Hossain and Shakhawat Hossain Badsha were present at the function.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The law enforcement agencies are trying to prevent arson attacks and vandalism,&#8221; Kamal added.<\/p>\n<p>The BNP suddenly came to the movement, he said, adding, &#8220;But people have turned away from them because of their past activities. It has been proven that people voted against them in the 2008 and subsequent elections.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;People will not vote in favour of them (BNP) in the elections. That&#8217;s why they are imposing political programmes without considering public sufferings.<\/p>\n<p>The home minister said RAB and police are working to check crimes, while journalists are engaging in the country&#8217;s wellbeing, adding, &#8220;We are committed to establishing the rule of law.
