Foreign Minister Dr A K Abdul Momen stated that
\nBangladesh welcomes the ruling of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in
\nfavor of Guyana.<\/p>\n
He made this comment while chairing the virtual meeting of the Commonwealth
\nMinisterial Group on Guyana (CMGG) held on the sidelines of the 78th UNGA on
\nSunday in New York, according to a press release received here today.<\/p>\n
“I look forward to our usual discussions, camaraderie, and, in accordance
\nwith the consistent views of Heads, our expression of unwavering support for
\nGuyana’s territorial integrity,” said the foreign minister at the meeting.<\/p>\n
He mentioned that Bangladesh is pleased to continue in the role of the
\nsubstantive chair of the Commonwealth Ministerial Group on Guyana.<\/p>\n
Commonwealth Secretary-General Patricia Scotland delivered opening remarks
\nwhile Consul General at the Guyana Consulate General in New York Ambassador
\nMichael E. Brotherson provided an update on recent developments.<\/p>\n
The Ministers of CMGG took part in the discussion session and agreed to
\nprepare a concluding statement to convey to the Commonwealth Foreign Affairs
