Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said her government was committed to implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) including SDG3 on “Good Health and Well-being” confronting all challenges steaming from the Covid-19 pandemic, Ukraine war and climate crisis.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are committed to executing the SDGs that included SDG3 despite the challenges arising out of the Covid-19 pandemic, Ukraine war and climate crisis,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
The premier made the remarks as Chair of the Partnership for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (PMNCH) Helen Clark paid a courtesy call on her at the Bilateral Booth in the United Nations Headquarters here on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen later briefed the media about the prime minister\u2019s daily engagements on the sidelines of the 78th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).<\/p>\n
According to Momen, Sheikh Hasina said her government has been implementing the National Health Sector Strategic Plan (2011-2030) alongside increasing allocation by 27 percent in the health sector in the current FY 2023-24 as per her government pledges to reach healthcare services to every person.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, Helen Clark praised the overall development in the health sector under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.<\/p>\n
\u201cBangladesh has set a rare instance in reducing mother and child mortality rate by ensuring healthcare services for all,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
