Desk Report: Jahangir Alam has been appointed as the new Secretary of the Health Services Division of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Before this he was working as the Secretary of Ministry of Social Welfare.<\/p>\n
This information was informed in a notification signed by Shamsul Arefin, Senior Assistant Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration on Thursday (October 5). Jahangir Alam was promoted to the post of Secretary on 18 May 2022 and joined the Ministry of Social Welfare on 19 May. He is the outgoing secretary of the of Health Services Division. Anwar Hossain replaced Howladar.<\/span><\/p>\n It is reported that Jahangir Alam joined government service on April 1, 1993 as a member of BCS XI batch administration cadre. During his career, he served as assistant commissioner, assistant commissioner (land), upazila executive officer in field administration. He served as Senior Assistant Secretary\/Deputy Secretary in Ministry of Education, Ministry of Women and Child Affairs, Local Government Division.<\/span><\/p>\n He then served as Assistant Private Secretary-1 to the Prime Minister from July 2012 to November 2016. After being promoted as Joint Secretary, he served in the Department of Public Security, Ministry of Home Affairs. Later he was promoted as additional secretary and served in the same ministry.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n He joined the Department of Energy and Mineral Resources as Additional Secretary on 25 March 2021. During his tenure as Additional Secretary, he served successfully as Chairman of Sundarban Gasfields Company and Sylhet Gas Fields Company Limited (SGCL) and as Director of various companies.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Jahangir Alam was born on October 17, 1966 in Pirganj Upazila of Rangpur District.
