\nToday in Keraniganj, he was joined virtually by the Prime Minister from Ganobhaban before laying the foundation stone of the project of ‘Re-excavation of Shubhadhyakhal under Keraniganj Upazila of Dhaka District and Development and Protection of Both Banks of the Canal (Phase 1)’ among various projects of Ministry of Water Resources and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. He said these things while addressing the public meeting.\u00a0<\/span>
\nThe state minister said that the canal connects Shubhadyakhal, Buriganga and Dhaleswari rivers.\u00a0The canal regaining its lost glory will have a positive impact on the area’s trade, transport, health, recreation and livelihoods. He said, this canal can make an effective contribution to modern waste management and environmental protection.\u00a0The project needs to be implemented quickly to maintain proper flow and quality of water.
\nNasrul Hamid said, this Shubhadhyakhal will become popular as an alternative to Mawa road.\u00a0The branches of this canal will also be renovated gradually.
\nSubhadya canal re-excavation under Keraniganj upazila of Dhaka district and development and protection of both banks of the canal (1st stage) has been estimated at Tk 317 crore 59 lakh.\u00a014.26 km will be re-excavated in the 1st phase.\u00a013.83 km walkway will be constructed with bank preservation.\u00a0Besides, 2 thousand 600 different types of trees will be planted.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
