\nThe Prime Minister assured the delegation that following the policies adopted by the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangladesh has always stood by the Palestinians and will continue to do so in the future.<\/span>
\nThe Prime Minister’s Press Secretary said that the OIC member countries discussed the escalation of military force in Gaza, especially in the context of the humanitarian crisis there.<\/span>
\nThe Prime Minister said that Bangladesh will continue to support the Palestinian people as in the past.<\/span>
\nThe prime minister mentioned that a special prayer will be offered for the Palestinians in Friday prayers in all mosques across the country.<\/span>
\nAt the meeting, the Palestinian ambassador detailed the Israeli army’s brutality in and around Gaza, saying it had caused a humanitarian catastrophe and that Israeli forces were using the most advanced US technology.Youssef Y. Ramadan said Israeli forces carried out airstrikes on innocent Palestinians at a hospital in Gaza, mostly children and pregnant women.\u00a0These children and women took shelter in the hospital run by Christians considering it as a safe haven.
\nHe also mentioned that Palestinian doctors who studied medical science in Bangladesh are now working in the war zone.
\nAt that time, Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman Fazlur Rahman MP, Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary M Tofazzel Hossain Mia and Foreign Ministry Senior Secretary Masud Bin Momen were present.
\nEarlier, famous footballer Ronaldinho of Brazil paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister at Ganabhaban.
\nSheikh Hasina said that Bangladesh has a large number of fans and supporters of Brazilian football, which is especially visible during the FIFA World Cup.
\nDuring the meeting, the Prime Minister also praised Ronaldinho’s football skills.
\nSheikh Rehana, younger daughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and younger sister of Sheikh Hasina were also present at that time.
\nRonaldinho presented two jerseys of the Brazil national football team signed by him to the Prime Minister and Sheikh Rehana.
