\nEuropean Commission President Ursula von der Leyen recently invited Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to join the forum during their meeting at the G20 summit in India.\u00a0The Foreign Minister said that during the visit, the Prime Minister will hold several meetings with the leaders of the European countries on the sidelines of the forum.<\/span>
\nThe Prime Minister is expected to meet European Commission Executive Vice President and European Trade Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis on October 25 morning.\u00a0The Prime Minister of Bangladesh will later hold a bilateral meeting with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.<\/span>
\nAfter this bilateral meeting, a loan support agreement of 350 million Euros in the renewable energy sector will be signed between the Economic Relations Department (ERD) of the Government of Bangladesh and the European Investment Bank.\u00a0Besides, a grant agreement of 45 million euros will be signed between the European Commission and the European Investment Bank for the renewable energy sector of Bangladesh.\u00a0A 12 million euro grant agreement will also be signed between the Government of Bangladesh and the European Commission in Bangladesh’s renewable energy sector.<\/span>
\nDuring this visit, the Government of Bangladesh and the European Commission will sign five different grant agreements worth 70 million euros in the social sector of Bangladesh.\u00a0On the same day, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will attend and address the inaugural plenary session of the Global Gateway Forum.<\/span>
\nIn the afternoon, the president of the European Investment Bank.\u00a0Warner Hoare will meet with the Prime Minister.\u00a0In addition, European Commission Crisis Management Commissioner Janez Lenarcic and Commissioner for International Partnership Juta Urpillainen will pay a courtesy call on the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.\u00a0In the evening the Prime Minister will attend a dinner hosted by Ursula von der Leyen in honor of the Heads of State and Government participating in the Global Gateway Forum.<\/span>
\nThe Prime Minister will hold a bilateral meeting with Belgian Prime Minister Alexandre de Crewe on October 26.\u00a0The Prime Minister will also hold a bilateral meeting with Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel.\u00a0In the afternoon of the same day, he is expected to attend a reception with expatriate Bangladeshis living in Belgium.<\/span>
