\nThe finance minister said that the money deposited by all the participants in the pension scheme will be deposited as a ‘universal pension fund’.\u00a0This money will be invested by the National Pension Authority in safer and less risky sources.\u00a0He said that treasury bonds will be given priority in terms of investment.<\/span>
\nStating that depositing money in the National Pension Scheme is safe, he said, “I think it will meet most of the needs of the people of the country and everyone will benefit.”\u00a0Referring to the amount of South Korea’s national pension fund of 700 to 800 billion US dollars, he expressed hope that a strong pension fund will be developed in Bangladesh in the future.<\/span>
\nThe secretary of the finance department said on the occasion.\u00a0Khairuzzaman Majumder said that launching the National Pension Scheme was the election promise of the government.\u00a0The government has set up the National Pension Authority as per that promise and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the pension scheme last August.\u00a0He said that the money being deposited in the pension fund is fully protected and safe and this money is being invested in profitable sectors.<\/span>
\nStating that it is safe to participate in the pension scheme, the secretary also said that many times confusion is spread about the investment of pension fund money.\u00a0There is nothing to be confused about it, it is completely safe and secure.\u00a0He sought the cooperation of the media to inform the countrymen with correct information on this matter.<\/span>
