{"id":4562,"date":"2024-01-20T14:27:42","date_gmt":"2024-01-20T10:57:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyenglishtimes.com\/?p=4562"},"modified":"2024-01-20T14:27:42","modified_gmt":"2024-01-20T10:57:42","slug":"foreign-minister-calls-for-peace-support-to-palestine-rohingya-repatriation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyenglishtimes.com\/?p=4562","title":{"rendered":"Foreign minister calls for peace, support to Palestine, Rohingya Repatriation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>ET Desk: <\/strong>Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud today called for peaceful settlement of global disputes and promotion of culture of peace in the world.<\/p>\n<p>He made the remark while speaking at the 19th NAM Summit in Kampala, the<br \/>\ncapital of Uganda, as the head of Bangladesh delegation, a foreign ministry<br \/>\npress release said here.<\/p>\n<p>In his speech, the Foreign Minister referred to the statement of the Father<br \/>\nof the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the NAM Summit in Algiers<br \/>\nin 1973.<\/p>\n<p>He highlighted that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is carrying forward<br \/>\nBangabandhu&#8217;s legacy of peace, development and human rights with courage and<br \/>\ndetermination.<\/p>\n<p>Dr.Mahmud reiterated Bangladesh&#8217;s unwavering support to the oppressed people<br \/>\nof Palestine and demanded justice for them.<\/p>\n<p>He also urged the world community to stand with Palestinians and use all<br \/>\ntools available to support their cause.<\/p>\n<p>Bangladesh foreign minister also urged all concerned to redouble efforts to<br \/>\nensure a sustainable solution to the Rohingya issue.<\/p>\n<p>He underscored the need for a constructive and non-confrontational dialogue<br \/>\napproach to promote peaceful, just and inclusive societies.<\/p>\n<p>The two-day Summit inaugurated on Friday by Uganda President Yoweri Museveni<br \/>\nas new Chair of the Movement is expected to adopt the outcome document,<br \/>\nKampala Declaration and a declaration on Palestine.<\/p>\n<p>On the sideline of NAM Summit, Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud held a<br \/>\nmeeting with his Myanmar counterpart Than Swe.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting, both the foreign ministers discussed on Rohingya<br \/>\nrepatriation and matters to mutual interest and bilateral issues.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ET Desk: Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud today called for peaceful settlement of global disputes and promotion of culture of peace in the world.
