Under the circumstances, an emergency meeting was held under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor in the conference room of Syed Nazrul Islam Administrative Building at 6:30 PM.<\/p>\n

In the meeting, it was decided to form a three-member investigation committee to determine the cause of today’s incident and to verify the quality of the works that have already been completed in the Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman residential hall under construction. Professor Md. Kamruzzaman Sarkar of the Civil Engineering Department of Rajshahi Science and Technology University was convened. The other two members of the committee are Md Rashedul Islam, Executive Engineer, Public Works Department, Rajshahi, and Md Imrul Hasan, Additional Chief Engineer, Rajshahi University Engineering Department.<\/p>\n

Also, instructions have been given to report to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) separately on behalf of the chief engineer, site engineer, and the contractor organization by 5 pm tomorrow, January 31, regarding today’s incident.<\/p>\n

In this meeting, Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Md. Sultan-ul-Islam, Vice-Chancellor (Education) Prof. Md. Humayun Kabir, Registrar Prof. Md. Abdus Salam, Student Advisor Prof. Jahangir Alam South, Proctor Prof. Asabul Haque, Public Relations Administrator Prof. Pradeep. Kumar Pandey, Transport Administrator Professor Mokchedul Haque, Fire Service officials, Engineers of the University Engineering Department, and responsible persons of the contractor were present.<\/p>\n

Also, decided in the meeting that the contracting company would bear all the expenses of the treatment including the food allowance of the injured workers. Also, a decision was taken not to use any juvenile laborers in the construction of buildings, including ensuring the safety and security of the workers.<\/p>\n

In Addition, Today, January 30, around 12:00 PM, the roofing of the auditorium of Shahid AHM Kamaruzzaman Hall under construction at Rajshahi University (RU) collapsed. 9 workers were injured. They were taken to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital and 7 were released after first aid.
