Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road<\/p>\n
Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said BNP has to suffer
\nfor the mistake it made by failing in movement and boycotting the election.<\/p>\n
He said this while exchange views with journalists after inspecting
\nDaganbhuiyan-Basurhat road widening work.<\/p>\n
Quader said BNP feels comfortable for lodging complaints to foreigners
\ninstead of complaining to the people.<\/p>\n
He said the general election was held braving many difficulties as there were
\nvarious domestic and foreign conspiracies to thwart the election. But Prime
\nMinister Sheikh Hasina did not fear anyone, the minister added.<\/p>\n
“Sheikh Hasina faced the plot with courage and determination and thus she has
\ntaken herself to unique height as the longest-serving female Prime Minister
\nin the world,” Quader said.<\/p>\n
About the party’s decision over the upcoming upazila elections, the AL
\ngeneral secretary said this time the AL will not giving any nominations from
\nthe party in the polls as well as the boat symbol will not be given to
\nanyone.<\/p>\n
Everything will remain open for all, he added.<\/p>\n
The Road Transport and Bridges minister said the Dhaka-Chattogram highway
\nwill be upgraded to six-lane with two service lanes on both sides.<\/p>\n
The government is also considering turning the highway into an elevated
\nexpressway in the near future, he added.<\/p>\n
