State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Simeen Hussain Rimi today said the government is playing a pioneering role to flourish women leadership in the country as it increased budgetary allocation for that.<\/p>\n
She was addressing a seminar on “Action Aid Event for the Celebration of International Women Day” organized by Action Aid Bangladesh at Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation in the capital.<\/p>\n
Noting that half of the country’s total population is women, Simeen Hussain said sustainable development cannot be possible keeping the women behind.<\/p>\n
She said today’s investment behind women will yield manifold result in future. The government is taking newer policies for creating women entrepreneurs, she added.<\/p>\n
She said training is being provided to women at community level to make them self-reliant.<\/p>\n
In the programme, three women were conferred with “Nasreen Smriti Padak 2024” in recognition of their contribution to stop sexual harassment, violence and child marriage and in the field of environment.<\/p>\n
