Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian Prime Minister
\nMikhail Mishustin congratulated President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh
\nHasina respectively on the occasion of Bangladesh\u2019s Independence Day.<\/p>\n
Xi Jinping noted that over the past 53 years, Bangladesh has steadfastly upheld its
\nindependence, strived to develop its economy and improve people’s livelihood, and made
\nremarkable achievements, laying a solid foundation for realizing the dream of \u201cSonar Bangla\u201d.<\/p>\n
The Chinese President pointed out that China and Bangladesh are traditional friendly neighbors,
\nand the friendship between the two countries has grown from strength to strength.<\/p>\n
In recent years, the two countries have enjoyed solid and profound political trust, and fruitful
\npractical cooperation in various fields, bringing tangible benefits to the people of the two
\ncountries, he said.<\/p>\n
Xi Jinping put emphasis on the development of China-Bangladesh relations and standing ready
\nto work together to further advance high-quality Belt and Road Cooperation and deepen the
\nChina-Bangladesh Strategic Partnership of Cooperation.<\/p>\n
On the same day, Chinese Premier of the State Council Li Qiang and Member of the Political
\nBureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister Wang Yi sent messages of
\ncongratulations separately to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan
\nMahmud respectively.<\/p>\n
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin in his letter to Sheikh Hasina said, \u201cOn behalf of the
\nGovernment of the Russian Federation and on my own behalf, please accept congratulations on
\nthe occasion of the national holiday of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh – the Independence
\nDay.\u201d<\/p>\n
He observed with satisfaction that the Russia-Bangladesh relations have been developing in the
\nspirit of friendship and mutual respect and trade and economic cooperation is gradually
\nadvancing, and perspective joint projects are being realised.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am convinced that active work between the governments will contribute to strengthening the
\nentire gamut of practical interaction. This fully corresponds with the interests of the Russian
\nFederation and the People’s Republic of Bangladesh,\u201d said the Russian premier.<\/p>\n
The Russian premier wished Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s sound health, well-being and new
\nachievements in her responsible work and happiness as well as prosperity of the two countries\u2019
