As part of the anti-drug drives in the capital,<\/p>\n
the members of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested a total of 40
\npeople on charges of selling and consuming drugs during the last 24 hours
\ntill 6am today.<\/p>\n
According to a release issued by the DMP, police conducted these operations
\nagainst the drug sellers and consumers in different areas under various
\npolice stations of the metropolis. They also detained a total of 40 drug
\ntraffickers and recovered huge drugs from their possessions from 6am of March
\n28 to 6 am today.<\/p>\n
During the anti-drug raids, police seized 462 pieces of contraband yaba
\ntablets, 151 grams of heroin, 106.65 kilograms of cannabis (ganja), 30 grams
\nof ice (drugs) and 116 bottles of phensidyle syrup from their possessions,
\nthe release added.<\/p>\n
Police filed 24 separate cases against the arrestees in these connections
