Bangladesh Film Archive under the Information and<\/p>\n
Broadcasting Ministry and Getty Images, a visual media company of the United
\nStates, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with an objective to
\ncollect and preserve the footages on the great Liberation War and Father of
\nthe Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.<\/p>\n
The MoU was signed on Friday at the Getty Images office in New York, said an
\nofficial release of the ministry here today.<\/p>\n
Dr Md Mofakkharul Iqbal, director of the project on “Collection and
\npreservation of audio visual documents of the Liberation War from local and
\nforeign sources and capacity building of Bangladesh Film Archive” and Arran
\nBirchenough, Asia Pacific director (TV and sales) of Getty Images, signed the
\nMoU on behalf of their respective sides.<\/p>\n
Senior Secretary of the Information and Broadcasting Ministry Humayun Kabir
\nKhandaker, officials from Bangladesh Embassy in Washington DC and Permanent
\nMission of Bangladesh to the UN in New York attended the function.<\/p>\n
After the declaration of independence by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu
\nSheikh Mujibur Rahman in the first hour of March 26, 1971, the news was
\ncirculated in different media of the world.<\/p>\n
During the long nine months of the Liberation War, various international
\nmedia published various pictures and news on the war.<\/p>\n
Through this MoU, Getty Images will assist Bangladesh Film Archive in
