Four people were injured as four carriages of a
\npassengers’ train and three compartments of an oil-laden train derailed at
\nJoydebpur this morning.<\/p>\n
After the incident, train services on the Dhaka-Tangail and Dhaka-Mymensingh
\nroutes have already been disrupted.<\/p>\n
“The accident occurred when a Dhaka-bound Tangail commuter train head-on
\ncollision with another Rangpur-bound oil-laden train, coming from the
\nopposite direction, in Choto Dewra area around 11am as it reached at outer
\nsignal after crossing the line,” said Abdul Mazid, member of a Railway
\nSecurity Forces.<\/p>\n
Four persons including a loco master (driver) of the passengers’ train were
\ninjured in the accident, he added.<\/p>\n
The injured were taken to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital in
\nGazipur.<\/p>\n
Being informed, Dhaka Metropolitan Police and officials of Fire Service and
\nCivil Defence (FSCD) were rushed to the spot.<\/p>\n
“The accident took place while the passengers’ train entered into the
\nopposite line due to wrong signaling,” said Abul Fateh Mohammad Shafiqul
\nIslam, deputy commissioner of Gazipur, while visiting the spot.<\/p>\n
A three-member probe committee, led by Additional District Magistrate Matiur
\nRahman, has been formed.<\/p>\n
“No train is now leaving from Dhaka as the train services on Joydebpur route
\nare still disconnected,” said Masud Sarwar, Kamalapur Railway Station
