\nA sub-inspector of the industrial police has been withdrawn for producing an industrialist Parvez Uddin of Chittagong, accused in a case filed over an explosion in Sitakunda on March 7, before court tying a rope around his waist. The policeman named Arun Kanti Biswas has been asked to show cause in this regard within seven days. Chittagong Industrial Police Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Sulaiman confirmed this information on Thursday.
\nHe said the incident is being investigated. Besides, SI Arun Kanti Biswas has been closed and a show cause notice has been issued. If there is no satisfactory answer in this regard then departmental action will be taken against him.

\nLater, action was taken against the policeman.
\nA Chittagong court on Wednesday granted a one-day remand to Parvez Uddin, one of the three directors of Seema Oxygen Plant in Chittagong’s Sitakunda area over the explosion.
\nParvez Uddin was arrested by the Industrial Police on Tuesday.
