The guest of honor at the event was the bank’s director Md. Abdul Jalil and the chief guest was the managing director (Current Charge) Md. Omar Faruk Khan.
The special guests were the deputy managing director Muhammad Saeed Ullah and Executive Vice President Abu Noman Md. Siddiqur Rahman. The function was presided over by Rajshahi Zone Head Mohammad Nurul Karim and the heads of the zone branches and sub-branches were present.
Speaking as the chief guest, the bank’s Managing Director (Current Charge) Md. Omar Farooq Khan said, “Islami Bank is the first interest-free bank in Southeast Asia. The path of this bank was challenging in the beginning.”
It was not easy to gain the trust of the public with its activities that went against the grain of the conventional banking system.
But within the first decade of its establishment, Islamic banks won a place in the hearts of customers. In the following decades, the bank’s activities have continued to expand.
Recently, due to various reasons, some customers of Islami Bank have lost confidence. All those working in the bank must work together to restore the trust of customers in Islami Bank.
The positive aspects of the Islamic banking system must be highlighted to the new generation.
