ET Desk: Islami Bank Bangladesh has opened a special booth at the Hajj camp in Ashkona, Dhaka to provide banking services, necessary information and gifts to Hajj pilgrims.
The booth was inaugurated by the Bank’s Managing Director (Acting) Md. Omar Faruk Khan as the chief guest on Monday, April 28. The bank’s Senior Executive Vice President AKM Mahbub Morshed, Executive Vice President Md. Majnuzzaman and Senior Vice President Nazrul Islam and other bank officials were present.
Every year, Islami Bank has been providing banking services, information, and gifts suitable for Hajj to Hajj pilgrims by setting up a booth at the Hajj camp in Ashkona.
To avoid the risk and hassle of carrying cash for Hajj pilgrims this year, Islami Bank has launched the Hajj Prepaid Card. This card can be loaded with a maximum of $1,200 or 150,000 Saudi Riyals. Hajj pilgrims can use this card to withdraw Saudi Riyals and make purchases from any ATM in Saudi Arabia.
This card can be collected from any branch or sub-branch of Islami Bank, in addition to the Hajj booth.

This booth is providing Saudi Riyal cash in exchange for Bangladeshi taka and endorsing dollars on debit and Khidmah cards. Pilgrims are also getting the facility of withdrawing cash from ATM booths here.

In addition to 24-hour banking services, the bank is providing leaflets and Hajj guidelines containing various information as gifts to raise awareness about the rules and procedures of performing Hajj.
