ET Desk:Manarat International University has held a grand welcome ceremony for its new students. (Saturday, June 21) The welcome ceremony was held at the university’s permanent campus auditorium in Ashulia. Vice-Chancellor and distinguished educationist of Dhaka University Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan was present as the chief guest.
The event was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Dr. Mohammad Abdur Rab. On the occasion of this grand new year, there was immense enthusiasm and excitement among the students, teachers and officials of the university. The venue was decorated with colorful balloons and festoons.
The chief guest at the event, Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan, urged the new students to prepare for their future professional lives along with their studies and said, “In addition to formal studies, it is important to improve your communication and language skills and you need to focus on becoming proficient in various soft skills. At the same time, you need to learn the techniques of presenting yourself fluently with confidence.
He remembered the two martyrs of Manarat University, Shakil Hossain and Ahnaf Abir Ashrafullah, and the injured in the mass uprising of the students of 24th century, and said, “The liberation and real independence of a country is not just a matter of words. For this, a lot of sacrifices and blood have to be shed.” For this reason, on behalf of Dhaka University and myself, I extend my greetings and deep respect to the families of the martyrs and injured.
In his presidential address, Manarat International University Vice Chancellor Dr. Mohammad Abdur Rab said, “Most people in our country think that a university is a big school or college. In reality, a university is a place where, in addition to education, knowledge is also disseminated,, Knowledge is created and disseminated through research and investigation.
‘Manarat International University was established with the slogan ‘A Center of Academic and Moral Excellence’ with the promise of providing education with moral values ​​to the nation, and is trying to implement it, he said, The university was under misappropriation ten months ago. By the grace of God, after recovering it from misappropriation, we are once again making strong efforts to fulfill the promise we made to the nation by cleaning up all the debris.
The event, which began with a welcome speech by Registrar Dr. Md. Moazzam Hossain, was addressed by Professor Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman, Dean of the School of Engineering, Science and Technology and Head of the CSE Department, among others. Dean of the School of Business and Economics and Head of the Department of Business Administration Md. Mahbub Alam, Dean of the School of Arts and Humanities and Head of the Department of Islamic Studies Dr. Abu Ayub Md. Ibrahim, among others.
The new students were welcomed with flowers at the beginning of the program, moderated by Rafiqul Islam, Acting Director of Planning and Development.
