Awami League have no presence in Bangladesh now: Humayun Kabir

Staff Correspondent: Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Adviser & BNP Joint Secretary Humayun Kabir on Monday said that the Awami League and its leader Sheikh Hasina currently have no role in Bangladesh, describing the ousted former prime minister as a “terrorist.”

He made the remarks while responding to questions from journalists.

On bilateral relations, the adviser emphasized the need for mutual sincerity to move Bangladesh-India ties in a positive direction. “We want a good start,” he said.

Humayun Kabir also stated that Sheikh Hasina would be brought back to the country through due legal process.

Referring to the current BNP-led government, he said it is committed to working in the national interest and is able to take a stronger position internationally due to its public mandate.
