The Bangladesh Rural Journalists Union (BRJU) has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the tragic death of Sakin Hossain, Staff Reporter of the local daily Subarnabhumi and Jessore District Correspondent of Green Television.
In a joint statement, BRJU President Mohammad Mizanur Rahman and Secretary General Sheikh Mohammad Tajul Islam prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
The BRJU leaders described the untimely death of a young journalist as deeply heartbreaking and alarming. According to media reports, Sakin Hossain had posted a farewell message on Facebook before his death. They emphasized that the circumstances surrounding the incident should be thoroughly and impartially investigated to determine the actual reasons behind this tragic loss.
The organization urged the concerned law enforcement authorities to conduct a fair, transparent, and comprehensive investigation into the incident and to take appropriate legal action based on the findings.
BRJU also called upon the government, media owners, and all relevant stakeholders to strengthen measures for ensuring journalists’ mental well-being, professional safety, and overall welfare, stressing that such tragedies deserve serious attention and preventive action.
