The Bangladesh Mofossol Sangbadik Union (BRJU) has extended its heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on assuming office as the country’s 23rd President. The organisation also congratulated the four newly appointed ministers and two state ministers who took oath recently.
In a joint congratulatory message issued on Saturday (August 22), BRJU President Mohammad Mizanur Rahman and Secretary General Sheikh Mohammad Tajul Islam congratulated President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
On Friday (August 21), Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir took oath as President at the Darbar Hall of Bangabhaban before Acting Speaker of the National Parliament Kaisar Kamal. Immediately after taking oath, he administered the oath to four newly appointed ministers and two state ministers.
The four ministers who took oath are BNP Standing Committee Member and Narsingdi-2 lawmaker Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan; Bangladesh National Party-BJP Chairman and Bhola-1 lawmaker Barrister Andalib Rahman Partha; Bandarban lawmaker Saching Prue Jerry; and former State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Rashiduzzaman Millat.
The two newly appointed state ministers are Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir and Gaibandha-4 lawmaker Mohammad Shamim Kaiser Lincoln.
In their congratulatory message, BRJU President Mohammad Mizanur Rahman and Secretary General Sheikh Mohammad Tajul Islam said the assumption of office by Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir as President is a significant development in the country’s political landscape.
They expressed hope that, as President, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir would play an important role in upholding the Constitution, democracy, rule of law and the rights of the people.
They also expressed their expectation that the highest level of the state would take positive initiatives to protect the rights of journalists and media professionals, ensure an environment conducive to independent journalism, and improve the professional security and dignity of journalists working in different parts of the country.
Meanwhile, congratulating the four newly appointed ministers and two state ministers, BRJU leaders expressed hope that the new members of the government would work with sincerity and integrity for the country’s development, good governance, public welfare and fulfilment of the expectations of the people.
The BRJU leaders wished the newly appointed President, ministers and state ministers good health, long life and success in discharging their respective responsibilities.
