Desk Report: AB Bank Limited has organized a day-long training workshop at Hotel Rose View, Sylhet to improve the business skills of women entrepreneurs. At the end of the training workshop, certificates were distributed among women entrepreneurs and loans were distributed through smart cards. Saiful Islam, Executive Director of Sylhet office of Bangladesh Bank was present as the chief guest and Tarique Afzal, President and Managing Director of AB Bank Limited was present as a special guest.
He said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has worked to convert the huge population of the country into public resources. The Prime Minister has taken various initiatives to make the women of the country self-reliant. There are currently 65 women members in the National Parliament of Bangladesh, including the Prime Minister and the Speaker.
Work should be done to increase the scope of work for women. If women’s financial empowerment is done properly, maternal mortality, child mortality or child marriage will be reduced to a large extent.
Iftekhar Enam Awal, Head of Corporate and SME Division of AB Bank presided over the event. Other officials of the bank were also present.
