Sylhet City Corporation’s newly elected Mayor Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury paid tribute to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with flowers.
Today Thursday (June 22) at 6 pm at the Sylhet Zilla Parishad premises, he paid his respects.
Bangladesh Awami League Advisory Council member former minister Nurul Islam Nahid MP, Bangladesh Awami League presidium member Syeda Zebunnesha Haque, Sylhet metropolitan Awami League president Vir Muktijodha Masuk Uddin Ahmad, district Awami League acting president Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury, district Awami League general were present. Sylhet district and metropolitan Awami League and affiliated organization leaders including Secretary and Zilla Parishad Chairman Nasir Uddin Khan.
Awami League President, father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s privileged daughter Sheikh Hasina expressed her gratitude for nominating her for the post of mayor, she said, “It is my job to manage the city building with everyone and fulfill the expectations of the city residents for the people of Sylhet. I want the cooperation of the townspeople.
Anojaruzzaman Chowdhury won the Sylhet City Corporation election held on Wednesday (June 21) by getting 1 lakh 19 thousand 991 votes in the boat symbol.
