Desk Report : Member Secretary of Jatiya Party’s Central Conference Preparation Committee, Political Secretary of Opposition Leader Begum Rowshan Ershad and former Ambassador Golam Masih said in a statement calling for the prevention of dengue fever, dengue has spread across country including Dhaka city. He said that dengue fever has become a national disaster. Resistance, and quick action should be taken by the government. The Ministry of Health and the agencies under this Ministry should understand that at the beginning of the monsoon season, the infestation of Aedes mosquitoes increases and people are affected by dengue fever, yet the relevant ministries are indifferent and there is no coordination between other agencies. There is no accountability, no transparency in the work of officials. Golam Masih said, children are now the most affected. The situation is deteriorating day by day. The pressure on hospitals is increasing, the number of deaths is also increasing. Befringing is not enough, providing adequate medicine should continue. He said, everyone should be aware of dengue prevention. Everyone should come forward. Dhaka City Corporation should be proactive in preventing dengue. They need to take urgent action. Golam Masih also said that the Ministry of Health should make people aware in the neighborhood by providing experts. Treat dengue patients with special care in hospitals as well. He also said to provide enough pesticides to the city corporation to kill dengue mosquitoes. General people and affected patients should also follow the advice of experts.
