With photos of BNP leaders supplying large bamboo sticks carried in a rickshaw in today’s mass-procession programme in the capital, Awami Legaue in a facebook post from its verified page questioned the commitment behind carrying such large sticks to hold a peaceful programme on part of BNP.
Ahead of the programme, photos showed rickshaws loaded with sticks were brought in the processions and some rally goers were found supplying these sticks among the crowd.
Referring to the violence that erupted in BNP’s so-called sit-in programme held in July 28, the AL said BNP leaders and activists reportedly brought bamboo sticks and local weapons in their previous programme in the name of movement.
During those demonstrations, activists were seen brandishing sticks wrapped with national flag. But today the party leader’s aggression took a new turn for the worse, added the post.
Ahead of today’s rally, rickshaws stashed with large wooden sticks which was showed up at the venue unravels an ulterior motive of the party to create chaos on the streets, the post reads.
These sticks were distributed among the rally participants.
These photos, taken from the venue, vividly exposed the intent of violence on part of BNP that contradict the party’s commitment to peaceful protest.
