RU Correspondent: A memorandum of understanding has been signed with Rajshahi University and the Igdir University of Turkey for cooperation in the field of higher education and research on Monday at 12:30 pm today.

This MoU was signed in an informal ceremony at the RU Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam administration building.

Rajshahi University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Golam Shabbir Sattar and Igdir University Rector Prof. Mehmet Hakki Alma signed and exchanged the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions.

During the signing of the MoU among others RU Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Md. Sultan-ul-Islam, Vice-Chancellor (Education) Prof. Humayun Kabir, Director of the Institute of English and Other Languages Prof. Abdullah Al Mamun, Director of the Office of International Affairs Prof. Md. Azizur Rahman, Igdir University Science and Arts Faculty Director Professor Ibrahim Demirtas, Islamic University, Kushtia Biology Faculty Director Professor Rezwanul Islam, International Relations Department Director Professor Abu Hena Mostafa Jamal and others were present.

Later Rabi Vice-Chancellor presented a felicitation gift to the Rector of Igdir University.

Under the signed MoU, the two universities will undertake an exchange of teachers, students, researchers, and others concerned in the fields of science and technology, exchange of post-doctoral researchers for scientific research, exchange of scientific equipment and other educational materials, short-term training programs, and joint research projects.

Besides, the university will collect funds from national and international levels for two joint research projects. The MoU will be for 5 years and may be extended thereafter.
