The whole world is running on modern technology now. Bangladesh is not also lagging behind of this. And the country’s NGOs have been playing an important role in this progression. About 3 crore 25 lakh families are enjoying the benefits of microfinance in the country. Those who were once illiterate, poor and helpless, had no idea about the country and society, are now transacting on their own through mobile phones.
Various organizations are paying all utilities bills including electricity and gas from home and covering banking transactions as well. It is no less an achievement. More unskilled workers will be transformed into sophisticated technologically skilled workers. This is what ‘Prottoy’ pronounced in this book.
It is edited by Ferdous Salam and it’s executive editor was Bidyut Khoshnbeesh. The publication of Buro Bangladesh included the writings of advisory editor Zakir Hossain, Dr. MA Yusuf Khan, Bidyut Khoshnbeesh, M Mosharraf Hossain, Md Sirajul Islam, Pranesh Chandra Banik and Farmina Hossain. In the beginning, Farmina Hossain has written a central text about the introduction of digital elections and the role of Buro Bangladesh in the microfinance sector of the country. MZS Shahriar and Asaduzzaman Mukul wrote about health issues.
The 104-page ‘Prottoy’ is enriched in printing with four colors inside and out. It contains interviews with eminent industrial entrepreneurs of the country. It is essential to read the ‘Prottoy’ of entrepreneurs who want to take the country forward, especially the new generation. The cover of Prottoy is made by Mustafizur Karigar. The price is added for one thousand taka. Zakir Hossain has written a very timely article urging the development of skilled workers.
Naturally, it is certain that importance should be given to computer engineering education along with technical education in Bangladesh’s education system. Because Bangladesh is small in size and huge in population.
This is how he made a special appeal to save the new generation from unemployment in his article.
Undoubtedly, his writing deserves praise. Self-reliance of common people creating entrepreneurs and still images of four colors are more attractive to the readers.
He cited that the distance of the city from rural areas and lack of transport, long time idle spending in the transport, cost of travel and above all poor communication system have become a major hindrance to the economic development of people in remote areas.
Due to such barriers in access to financial services, people living in these areas are held back from engaging in income generating activities. Digital transaction of financial services are bringing splendid help to the people of these remote areas.
