Recruitment exam should be technology-based – Ismail Zabiullah

ET Desk: The July Uprising began with the recruitment of government jobs. Therefore, Ismail Zabiullah, the Prime Minister’s Advisor on Public Administration (Ministerial rank), has suggested reducing the length of the recruitment examination and relying on technology. He made this suggestion while attending the celebration of the founding anniversary of the Public Service Commission (PSC) at Agargaon in the capital on Wednesday, April 8 morning, as the chief guest.

The July Uprising began with the recruitment of government jobs. Therefore, Ismail Zabiullah, the Prime Minister’s Advisor on Public Administration (Ministerial rank), has suggested reducing the length of the recruitment examination and relying on technology. He made this suggestion while attending the celebration of the founding anniversary of the Public Service Commission (PSC) at Agargaon in the capital on Wednesday, April 8 morning, as the chief guest.

He further said that the current government decided to retain 01 Public Service Commission instead of accepting the 3 commissions proposed by the interim government. Since independence, thousands of talented youth have been appointed to various cadre services through this commission and have been making important contributions to the country’s development, policy formulation and administrative leadership.

The advisor said that about 4 to 5 lakh candidates participate in a BCS exam, which is one of the largest competitive exams in the world. Candidates who pass this tough competition play an important role in the leadership of the administration as valuable human resources for the country. He also said that the entire process of a BCS exam needs to be completed within a year. He emphasized on quickly involving talented youth in state service by making the recruitment process more modern and timely.

He Said, The Bangladesh Public Service Commission is not only a constitutional institution, it is a symbol of justice, merit and credibility in the state system. The foundation of future administrative leadership is built through each and every activity of the commission. He expressed optimism that through collective dedication, professionalism and wisdom, the Bangladesh Public Service Commission will become a more modern, efficient and trustworthy institution in the future. He expressed satisfaction and mentioned that no question leakage incident has occurred during the current tenure of the commission.

He called upon everyone to build an administration where merit is the only criterion, justice is the basis of every decision, and service to the people is the highest commitment. Bangladesh Public Service Commission Chairman Professor Dr. Mobasher Monen presided over the event, while Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Md. Ehsanul Haque was present as a special guest. Bangladesh Public Service Commission Secretariat Secretary Dr. Md. Sanwar Jahan Bhuiyan delivered the welcome speech.

All the officers and employees of the commission were present at the event.
