State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury today said that the country is moving forward under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.The state minister said this as the chief guest at a discussion after the release of fish fry on Biral food warehouse pond on the occasion of ‘National Fisheries Week 2023′ in Biral upazila of the district, a press release said.’The people of Rangpur got a division. Sheikh Hasina will redecorate this division. She is our greatest asset’ he said.The state minister said that the officers and researchers of the Department of Fisheries are constantly working to increase the production of fish. Native fish are disappearing due to various reasons. They are doing research to save the endangered fish. They have been successful in research for more fish farming in a scientific manner. Hilsa has achieved unprecedented success in fish farming. Bangladesh is the top hilsa-producing country in the world.He handed over bicycle, educational aids and scholarships among minority students and one-time financial donation cheques for cancer, kidney, liver cirrhosis, stroke paralysis, congenital heart disease and thalassemia patients.He also distributed wheel chairs to the disabled and cheques of TR money to various religious mosques, temples, madrasas and educational institutions of the upazila.Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Moshammat Afshana Kawshar, Biral Upazila Chairman Mostafizur Rahman Babu and Upazila Awami League General Secretary Ramakant Roy, among others, were present.
