Awami League (AL) Advisory Council Member and 14-party alliance spokesperson Amir Hossain Amu today said BNP founder and military dictator Ziaur Rahman had started politics of killing through assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on August 15, 1975.

“General Zia had awarded killers of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and rehabilitated them in politics,” he told a 14-party’s peace rally as the chief guest at Uttara in the city.

Amu said the democratic trend will continue under the leadership of AL President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. BNP-Jamaat click is trying to halt democratic trend in the country as the alliance grabbed the state power illegal way, he added.

AL and 14-party leaders and activists will remain alert against their any sorts of conspiracy, he said.

Workers Party President Rashed Khan Menon said BNP is trying to create anarchy centering the upcoming general election in the country and it is hatching conspiracy against the present government so everyone should remain vigil to this end.

Dhaka City North AL President Sheikh Bazlur Rahman presided over the meeting while AL Presidium Member Advocate Qamrul Islam, Bangladesher Samyabadi Dal General Secretary Dilip Barua, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JASAD) General Secretary Shirin Akhter, Awami League Liberation War Affairs Secretary Mrinal Kanti Das, Dhaka City North AL General Secretary SM Mannan Kochi and Habibur Rahman, MP, among others, spoke.
