People show ‘red-flag’ to BNP as it does politics for Khaleda, Tarique: Hasan

Staff correspondent :

Information and Broadcasting Minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud has said that the people have already shown red-flag to BNP as it doesn’t do politics for people.

“BNP doesn’t do politics for people but for its chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and her son Tarique Rahman,” he told a discussion arranged marking the National Mourning Day at Arani Manmohini High School ground at Bagha upazila in the district this afternoon.

Hasan said BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir speeches are now revealing a tone of frustration as the party becomes very weak organizationally.

BNP leaders aren’t going to foreigners frequently now as they realized it brings nothing, he noted.

Foreigners don’t support BNP’s caretaker government or polls-time neutral government formula, he said.

Hasan said foreigners want a fair election and “we are also guaranteeing for a fair election”.

Mentioning that BNP doesn’t perceive the country’s progress, Hasan said when the country is marching forward under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s leadership, BNP is making complaint against the government but foreigners are not turning a hair at their complaint.

Paying tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the minister said two masterminds behind Bangabandhu killing are Khondakar Mustaq and Ziaur Rahman.

Zia family mounted up through killing as Zia masterminded August 15 carnage and his son Tarique Rahman perpetrated August 21 grenade attack, he said.

When Bangabandhu assumed office in newly independent Bangladesh, one crore Bangladeshi refugees were in India, people were shelter-less as their houses were burnt down during the Liberation War.

Bangabandhu had rehabilitated homeless people and he was taking forward the country but he was brutally assassinated along with most of his family members, he mentioned.
Describing Bangabandhu’s assassination as the most fateful incident in the country’s history, he said but his illustrious daughter Sheikh Hasina is now taking forward country towards prosperity.

He said BNP-Jamaat clique doesn’t like the country’s progress and so, “they want to drag down us”.

State Minister for Foreign Affairs and Rajshahi-6 parliamentary sear lawmaker Shahriar Alam chaired the discussion while district AL general secretary Abdul Wadud Dara, City AL general secretary Dablu Sarker, Ayen Uddin, MP, Adiba Anjum Mita, MP, and Rajshahi Barind Multipurpose Development Authority Chairman Akhter Jahan spoke, among others.
