Railways Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujon has said the continuation of ruling Awami League (AL) in state power made visible the country’s uplift.
“Bangladesh is witnessing tremendous development as democracy has been established under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina but BNP-Jamaat does not want to see Bangladesh’s advancement. They always hatching conspiracy against the country,” the minister made the remarks while addressing a discussion and doa mahafil marking the 48th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day in Debiganj upazila on Saturday.
Seeking votes for boat in the next general elections, the railways minister said the Awami League has brought the country’s independence, given it economic emancipation, socio-economic development, and arranged food, clothes and accommodation for its people.
Debiganj upazila unit of Mohila Awami League organised the discussion at Debiganj Rest House ground with upazila Mohila Awami League President Sammi Sultana Sapna in the chair.
The function was addressed, among others, by Railways Minister’s wife Sammi Akter Moni, district unit of Krishok League President Azizer Rahman, its general secretary Abu Sarower Bakul, upazila Awami League President Gias Uddin Chowdary and general secretary Hasnat Zaman Chowdhury and vice President of upazila Awami League Golam Rahman Sarker.
A large number of Mohila Awami League leaders and workers took part in the function.
