General Secretary of Awami League and Minister of Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader said that there will be unprecedented neutral elections in this country under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Elections will be unprecedentedly peaceful as will the unprecedented development of his government.
He said, ‘The election will be held in Bangladesh. No one can stop the election in this country if Bangabandhu’s daughter is alive. There will be peaceful elections. Sheikh Hasina has made unprecedented development in this country. Sheikh Hasina will conduct an unprecedented impartial election. There will be an unprecedented neutral election.’
He said these things in his speech as the chief guest at the peace and development rally organized by Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League at Bangabandhu Avenue today.
Awami League Dhaka Metropolitan South President Abu Ahmed Mannafi presided over and General Secretary Md. In the meeting chaired by Humayun Kabir, party general secretary Obaidul Quader was the chief guest, Awami League presidium member Advocate Kamrul Islam, Information and Broadcasting Minister and Awami League joint general secretary Dr. Hasan Mahmud, organizing secretary Mirza Azam MP and SM Kamal Hossain gave speeches as special guests.
Addressing Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Obaidul Quader said, ‘If Fakhrul sahib does not come to the election, the mango will also go, the peel will also go. Lose both. You have defamed the world, you are defaming the country, Sheikh Hasina will conduct an election that will be unprecedented. Mr. Fakhrul, if you lose the opportunity, you will not get it again.’
He said, ‘Hearing Mirza Fakhrul’s last speech, it seems that Mirza Fakhrul is still dragging the dead body of the caretaker government. Caretaker government dead body. He was laid to rest in Azimpur cemetery. Fakhrul is now pulling the dead body from the cemetery. The release of this dead body will not come.’
Recalling August 21, 2004, the general secretary of Awami League said, ‘When we stand here today, the brutal character of BNP comes before our eyes. This BNP wanted to kill our leader by throwing a grenade from that building. 23 of our lives were bled that day. Many of our leaders were injured. This is Bangabandhu Avenue, when we come here, we see the picture of how terrible BNP is, how cruel BNP is. So be prepared, will be played from all sides. They will foul, the foul must be answered. Red card should be shown.’
Obaidul Quader said, ‘That day I said that Rooppur uranium shipment is coming. Fakhrul, Mirza Abbas says, Moin Khan says, will close Rooppur. Uranium is recognized all over the world. By building this Rooppur nuclear power plant, we have joined the uranium club as number thirty-three. Those who want to close this nuclear power plant, why did we bring so many crores worth of uranium, that’s why we said we will pour it on their heads.’
Stating that BNP has got America’s disease, the bridge minister said, ‘They don’t get anyone else. Americans don’t come that way either. don’t care Runs to Peter Haas. Peter Haas wakes up in the morning, Peter Haas goes to lunch at noon, Peter Haas goes to dinner at night. I don’t know what dream Haas gave to Fakhrul. But there is no use in dreaming of power. Awami League General Secretary said, ‘You have blocked the path to power. What will Mr. Peter Haas do? Will you give the visa policy? What to do ban? We have spoken to Mr. Peter Haas’s supervisors. Stop the election by showing Peter Haas, riot in Dhaka, won’t let him play that game. That game is a game of terror, I will not let BNP play this game.’
He said to the leaders and activists, now the quarter finals, the semi finals ahead, the finals will be in January. It will be played all over Dhaka, it will be played in Chittagong, it will be played in Sylhet, it will be played in Rajshahi, it will be played in Barisal, it will be played in Khulna, it will be played all over Bengal. Well, play to the final. Don’t be tired now.’
