The main slogan of Awami League’s election manifesto in the upcoming 12th National Parliament election will be ‘Smart Bangladesh’.
This was stated by the member of the presidium of the party and the convener of the sub-committee in the meeting of the sub-committee on the preparation of the manifesto of the party at the Awami League office in Bangabandhu Avenue today. Abdur Razzaq.
In the 11th national parliament election, the slogan of ‘village will be city’ was mentioned by Dr. Abdur Razzak said that the main slogan of the party in the 12th national parliament election will be ‘Smart Bangladesh’.
He said that the country’s economy has been hit hard due to the Corona pandemic and the Ukraine-Russia war. Because of that, the growth target could not be achieved. The economy is going through a strain.
The price of some products in the international market has increased abnormally. Abdur Razzak said, Bangladesh is moving forward by confronting them. Despite all this, it has been possible to achieve a growth of 6 percent. The target was eight shares, that was not possible. It will take some more time to overcome the economic strain.
He mentioned that Awami League has been issuing manifestoes before every national election and said that promises are made to fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the nation. What we have done in the past, what we have achieved, are reviewed. In light of that, we have formulated the election manifesto.
The main theme of this year’s election slogan will be the employment of the youth, said Dr. Abdur Razzaq. He said, at one time everyone used to say that there is no infrastructure, no roads, there will be no industry in this country. Foreigners will not come, will not invest. We have done infrastructure, roads before. Now all obstacles in the way of industrialization have been removed. We have created an environment for investment. Now our aim will be to speed up industrialization in the country with domestic and foreign investors by setting up factories. To increase people’s income by creating employment.
Mentioning that employment will be created through Smart Bangladesh, he said, our challenge was better living. To increase the production sector, to build industrial plants for better living. Everything has been done for him. Through industrialization our educated children will get employment. The country’s economy will improve.
Referring to the promise of ‘village will be city’ in the last election, he said that now electricity has reached every house in the country. The road is paved. All villages are being connected with upazila cities. There has been a lot of development in schools and colleges. Through community health care, medical care has reached villages.
Regarding the control of product prices, the Agriculture Minister said, ‘People are angry because the price of potatoes and onions in the country is high. This price will not last. we are trying In particular, we are working with the poor people in mind. Currently the price of rice is going down. We now have more rice and wheat in our warehouses than at any time in the past.’
He said that he wants to transform the country into an upper-middle income country by keeping the SDG goals in front of the manifesto in the next election. I will prepare the election manifesto for that purpose. How much poverty will come down? We will prepare our next manifesto regarding the overall strong economy by taking into consideration the rate of inflation.
The member secretary of the manifesto formulation sub-committee and the information and research secretary of Awami League were also present at the meeting. Salim Mahmud, Office Secretary Barrister Biplab Barua, Professor Sadeka Halim, Sazzadul Hasan etc.
