Minister of Local Government Rural Development and Cooperative Mastranalaya. Tajul Islam MP said that if Bangladesh is to become a developed country, the political leadership as well as the public and private sectors must work together. Speaking as the chief guest at the coordination meeting regarding development activities of Chittagong City Corporation, Chittagong Development Authority and Local Government Engineering Department at Chittagong Circuit House on Saturday, he said that political leaders must be committed to the people to make Bangladesh a developed country. Non-governmental development organizations, cooperatives and people to play a role alongside government institutions in implementing the government’s plan. 
Chittagong City Mayor Bir Muktijoddha said in the president’s speech. Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said that 81 educational institutions and 56 health complexes are running many public service projects from the revenue income of Chasik. There is pressure on Chasik to bear the cost of running them. Chasik will be self-sufficient if it gets the support of the ministry in implementing income-generating projects to increase Chasik’s revenue, and can increase its service activities. 
In the speech of the special guest, Deputy Minister of Education Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Naufel MP said that Chittagong City Corporation should coordinate with the Ministry so that the expenditure of Chasik in education and health sector does not create any pressure. Along with the implementation of big projects, one has to be vigilant to ensure that the routine works are done well. 
In the meeting, Chasic Chief Engineer Rafiqul Islam Manik highlighted the details of the development activities carried out and ongoing under Chittagong City Corporation. 
Local Government Department Secretary Muhammad Ibrahim was present as a special guest in the meeting. Dr. Additional Secretary of Local Government Department. Malay Chowdhury, Mustakim Billah Faruqi, Chief Engineer of LGED. Ali Akhtar Hossain, Additional Divisional Commissioner Muhammad Anwar Pasha, Chasic Acting Chief Executive Officer Khaled Mahmud along with Panel Mayors, Councilors and Divisional Presidents, CDA Chief Engineer Kazi Hasan Bin Shams, Dhaka WASA Managing Director Taskeem A Khan, Chittagong WASA Managing Director Engineer A KM Fazlullah along with the top officials of Chittagong development related organizations were present.
