Police must ensure service with professionalism: IGP

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun has directed the field level police officers to ensure public service by performing their duties impartially and professionally. He said this at the day-long Police Headquarters Quarterly Conference at Bangladesh Police Auditorium at Rajarbagh Police Lines in the capital today.
In the president’s speech at the conference, the IGP said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh Police is working tirelessly to maintain law and order in the country. Additional

Referring to the law and order situation during the upcoming Durga Puja, the IGP said, ‘Policemen should be alert so that Durga Puja can be celebrated in a festive mood. We must also take necessary measures so that no one creates rumors and does not deteriorate the law and order situation.’ Mamun ordered the police officers to carry out their duties by maintaining good relations and coordination with all agencies at the field level. Reiterating the commitment to make the police station the main place of trust of the police, he said that work should be done to make the police station the main institution for providing police services. The IGP also said that the policemen should perform their duty with sincerity and dedication so that the people coming to the police station can get more service than they expect.
