On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Foreign Investors Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), the Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden Hotel in the capital is going to organize the ’60th Anniversary and Investment Fair 2023′ on November 8 and 9. .
This flagship mega-event was announced at a press conference organized in Dhaka on Saturday. The main theme of this upcoming event is ‘Forever Futures Forward’.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the program as the chief guest.
Nasser Ejaz Vijay, president of the chamber said about this event, ‘The main goal of this event is to highlight the role of FICCI in the economic development of the country since its establishment. At the same time, the contribution of our members to accelerate the economic progress of the country through policy support in creating an investment-friendly business environment of the country will be highlighted. The success stories of the member institutions will come up in this event.
He said that at the inaugural function, the Prime Minister will unveil FICCI’s research report ‘Catalyzing Greater FDI for Vision 2041: Priorities for Building Conducive Tax System in Bangladesh’ and ESG Publication ‘ESG Excellence: A Chronicle of FICCI Members’.
Regarding the investment fair, FICCI director and convenor of the program Mahabub ur Rahman said, ‘In the two-day long investment fair, the country’s economic resilience and sector-wise investment opportunities will be highlighted. Our member companies will participate in the fair with their latest innovations, services and products at 40 stalls. It is hoped that the public including senior government officials, policy makers, diplomats, development partners, think-tanks, stakeholders, domestic successful corporate officers will visit the fair.
He further said, ‘We are organizing two plenary sessions on ‘Green Value Chain’ and ‘Investment Climate: Current Landscape and Mission 2041’, where experts will present their valuable views to accelerate the journey of making Bangladesh a developed nation.
Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) will be the strategic partner of the event. Mohsina Yasmin, Acting Executive Chairman of the organization said, ‘BIDA has been working with FICCI for a long time to promote FDI and improve the investment environment in the country. In line with this, we are delighted to be the strategic partner of this mega-event of FICCI.’
He feels that this event will encourage existing foreign investors in the country and attract potential investors to invest in Bangladesh in the near future.
FICCI Vice President Swapna Bhowmik, Chamber Executive Director TIM Nurul Kabir and other directors and senior Bidar officials were present at the press conference.
