Bangladesh Awami League General Secretary and Minister of Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader today in a statement called on the leaders and activists of Bangladesh Awami League at all levels to be vigilant against BNP’s conspiracy to create anarchy and terror before the next 12th National Assembly elections.
In the statement, he said, Bangladesh Awami League always respects democratic culture and values. According to the constitutional provisions of the country, the next national parliament elections will be held on time in accordance with the democratic process. We expect a free and fair election with the participation of all in a peaceful environment. But BNP is conspiring to thwart the election, is running the steps of creating terror and anarchy through provocation. BNP is making inaction to grab power by any means. If the democratic fair environment is destroyed due to this inactivity of BNP, BNP will have to take the responsibility.
In the statement, Obaidul Quader MP said, BNP leaders are repeatedly showing exaggeration in their speeches and statements, which is a threat to independent and sovereign Bangladesh. Because they do not believe in the independence of Bangladesh, they can play any childish game against the country and people. They are today begging for the mercy of foreign masters, accepting someone so brazen as ‘God’ to seize state power. They are creating a way to subvert constitutional governance through conspiracies and hand over power to the unelected. Bangladesh Awami League is determined to keep the country’s constitution and sovereignty intact.
In the statement, he said, BNP is spreading fear in the public mind in the name of the so-called rally on October 28 as part of a series of conspiracies. The leaders and workers of Bangladesh Awami League will take a cautious stand against the terrorism and anarchy of BNP along with the peaceful people. Awami League leaders will not allow the country’s democratic progress and stable environment to be disrupted in any way. Thousands of Awami League leaders and activists have sacrificed themselves in the struggle to establish people’s freedom, liberation and democratic rights. This time too, Awami League leaders and workers are ready for any sacrifice to uphold the march of development, progress and prosperity under the leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina.
