In 15 years, the traffic department of the police collected Tk 761 crore in fines: Home Minister

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that traffic departments of the Metropolitan Police have collected Tk 761 crore in fines in the last 15 years. 
He gave this information in a written reply to a question raised on the table of Nurunnabi Chowdhury, a member of the government party in the Jatiya Sangsad today.
Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, “In the last 15 years, the traffic departments of the Metropolitan Police have deposited 761 crores 99 lakhs 23 thousand 277 rupees in the government treasury by collecting fines.” Note that currently there are 8 Metropolitan Police units in the country.
In response to a question from Didarul Alam, another member of the government party, the home minister said that in 2023, 477 policemen have joined the United Nations peacekeeping mission. Among them 330 men and 14 women. Members of Bangladesh Police are working in peacekeeping in South Sudan, Cyprus, Libya, Mali, Central African Republic and Democratic Republic of Congo in United Nations Peacekeeping Mission
