The spread of drugs in the country has taken a terrible form today. Drugs are at the root of destroying all the present and future possibilities of the country. The young society of the country is at the top of the drug addicts. The youth and young people affected by the death knell of deadly drugs are facing a terrible disaster today. In today’s society, drugs are giving birth to one crime after another. Apart from this, drug consumption causes damage to all organs of the body including kidney, nerve complications. Along with moodiness, extreme depression, suicidal tendencies, uncoordinated use, hallucinations, forgetfulness, weak-mindedness, depression, etc., drug addicts suffer from mental disorders. Drug addicts have the highest number of stroke deaths. University, medical college, school-college students are more addicted to drugs. Besides, there is no such profession in Bangladesh, which does not contain drug addicts. When patients go to doctors or psychiatrists with various kidney and nerve complications, after knowing the past history of the patients, they understand that those patients were drug addicts. Most drug addicts go to psychiatrists. Experts say that drugs are entering the educational institutions at a large rate. The literacy rate is high among drug addict youth. They are suffering from complex diseases at a young age, many are dropping out of education. Many parents came and cried. Experts were shocked to hear their tragic story. Drugs are now readily available everywhere in the country. It can be found in cities, villages and underprivileged areas as well. The involvement of young people with various drugs including Yaba, Heroin, Phencidyl, Ganja, Opium, Charash, Bengal Madh, Gul, Morphine, Cocaine, Heroin, Pathelin, Marijuana, Decrapartan, Pathedrin, Cocaine, Ecstasy, LSD, Elixir, Cholaimd is increasing. A family is being destroyed by a drug addict child. Families are getting confused about that child. 20 parents called the Ittefak office and expressed their gratitude after seeing the report published by Ittefaq yesterday under the title of the terrible drug syndicate surrounding Jabi. The parents said that they lost everything because of their drug addict child. Some children of these parents are studying in university, medical college, and some children are school-college students. They are victims of terrible situations. Children of drug addicts often misbehave with their parents and even beat them if they don’t pay on demand. Drugs are also at the root of heinous crimes like murder. Announcing a zero tolerance policy against drugs, imposing fines, arrests and punishments, nothing is being done. The demand for drugs is increasing day by day. The experts said that a social movement should be built against drugs by people from all walks of life, regardless of party affiliation. Several officers of the law and order force said on the condition of anonymity that although there are factional disputes over politics, the political leaders and activists involved in the drug trade are united in their illegal trade. Currently, the drug dealers are getting the patronage of a class of leaders and activists of the ruling party. Due to this, the law enforcement forces are unable to control the spread of drugs even if they want to. Prime Minister announced zero tolerance policy against drugs. It is not possible to control it if the leaders of religious organizations, all public representatives, political leaders and activists of all parties, and people of all professions do not form and raise a united movement to eliminate drugs. IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun said, “The Prime Minister has announced a zero tolerance policy against drugs. Police operation against drugs continues with zero tolerance policy. The number of arrests for drug-related offenses is the highest every month, and large quantities of drugs are recovered. Despite that, the drug trade is not stopping. Drug control is not possible for the police alone. “Drugs are a threat to us,” RAB Director General M Khurshid Hossain said. It cannot be controlled by anyone alone. Everyone should play all out, common people should be aware. People from all walks of life need to come forward to hand over those who use and sell drugs. In order to protect the young society and the country, a social movement against drugs should be developed. There is no alternative. Prominent psychiatrist Professor Dr. Mohit Kamal said, youths are targeted to get addicted to drugs. First, free drugs are given under the pretense of talk. Later they became addicted to drugs. Traders in different markets are also being targeted in the same way. In this manner, the number of addicts for selling drugs is increased. Many such patients come to him for treatment and inform this doctor about their addiction. Drug addicts include people from all walks of life. But young people are more addicted. Their mood is irritable, sleepless. They are affected by all kinds of diseases. Permanently loses sexual power. He said, human disaster is happening due to drugs. In order to protect the young society of the country, a social movement of people of all classes and professions should be developed against drugs. National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital Joint Director Professor Dr. Badrul Alam said that many patients in school and college are coming with neuro complications. They are basically drug addicts. Students also come with various mental complications. Many are having strokes at a young age. Cocaine, yaba, phencidil consumption increases the risk of stroke. As the number of patients due to drugs is increasing, crime is also increasing. He said that totalitarian drugs cannot be controlled by anyone alone. Public awareness should be created through social movements against this. Otherwise, there will be a serious crisis of talent in the management of the country. The country will not be saved if the young society is not protected.
