Staff correspondent :

Bangladesh dependable batter Mushfiqur Rahim missed
out his well-deserved double century against Pakistan after being out on 191.

Mushfiqur was beaten by the extra bounce of pacer Mohammad Ali, after playing
341 balls in his innings, which studded with 22 fours and one six.

Even though, he missed out his fourth double century by nine runs, he helped
Bangladesh earn a lead against Pakistan on Day 4 game of the two-match series
opening Test at Rawalpindi today.

He also broke a number of records on the way to his 191. He hammered 687
fours in Test cricket, which is now highest by a Bangladeshi batter, going
past Tamim Iqbal.

He also completed his 11th Test century, and his first against Pakistan. His
century tally is now second to Mominul Haque who has 12. Tamim Iqbal is in
the third position with 10 centuries.

On the way to his epic knock, Mushfiqur completed 15000 runs in International
cricket as only the second Bangladeshi batter. Tamim Iqbal with 15249 runs
still is in the top spot, but Mushfiqur is expected to go past his record as
he has now 15159 runs under his belt.

After making 52-run with opener Shadman Islam for the fourth wicket stand,
Mushfiqur shared two big partnerships with Liton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz
to help the side earn the lead.

He combined for 114-run with Liton Das who made 56, for the sixth wicket
before adding 196-run with Miraz for the seventh wicket.
